Fibre 4 Fibres Giveaway preview 46

Another week, another prize. The last of one for February. This week's prize has a definite feel of the coast. Going to the beach is going to be one of the first things I do once I can venture out again. Luckily I won't have to go too far as Norfolk has plenty of wonderful beaches. And I will be having chips! It's the law; you HAVE to eat chips when you go to the seaside!

The prize includes a sock set, 'Pesky Seagulls' which was created by the lovely Hayley at Ducky Darlings, to go with my sock pattern 'It's Seagull o'clock'. Hayley has not only donated this sock set, but a pin badge and progress keeper as well. I will gift the winner a copy of the pattern too, either on Ravelry or emailing a copy direct. There is a copy of a beautiful book of sock patterns - Shoreland by Hunter Hammersen - which has been donated by Search Press. I reviewed this book on my blog last year. My friend Ann who is Busy Pottering on Instagram has made this lovely project bag with seaside cottages and seabirds on. There is also a skein of Life in the Long Grass fine sock yarn in beautiful blue tones and a ball of Scheepjes Our Tribe 4ply yarn. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated a prize.

I'm sure that you know the score by now, but I'll tell you how to enter anyway! You have a chance to win all these gorgeous prizes for a minimum donation of £2! Are you tempted to try your luck? Here's everything you need to know. This giveaway will run this coming Sunday 28th February, closing at 23:55. To enter, go to my JustGiving page here and buy your virtual raffle tickets by donating £2 or more. £2 gets you 2 tickets, £3 gets you 3 tickets, £5 gets you 5 tickets and so on. The more you donate, the greater your chance of winning. You will need to leave your Instagram or Ravelry name, or tick the box to share your details with me when you make your donation, so that I can contact you if you are the winner. This is really important as I have no way of knowing who you are otherwise. Each week, I still get donations where no name or email is left, so if that person's number comes up in the random number generator, I have no idea who it is! All your donations go the Myositis UK to help fund research into this incurable muscle disease, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support. Every single donation is important. Hopefully we should pass £14,000 this week! Thank you and stay safe! xxx

Happy feet!

I have extremely happy feet right now. I've finished two pairs of socks and my feet have a great big grin on them! There is nothing nicer than snuggling your toes into a brand new pair of handknit socks! The first pair is my own pattern, 'It's Seagull o'clock' and the main yarn is a skein from Burrow & Soar. I bought two skeins last year and ended up using one as a prize in my raffles. The person who won that particular prize was Spinthrift and she decided to knit my Seagulls socks. She added some minis as contrast cuffs, heels and toes, and when I saw the photo that she'd posted on Ravelry, I loved them so much that she very kindly sent me the leftovers of the minis for my own pair. It's nice knowing that I have a sock twin! Thank you Jane! If you'd like to knit a pair yourself, you can buy a copy of my pattern from Ravelry here

The second pair is a plain vanilla sock where the beautiful yarn is allowed to show itself off - no other pattern needed! The yarn is from The Yarn Badger and is called 'Double Rainbow'. It's incredibly soft and has silver stellina in it for extra twinkly toes! I'm taking part in the Rainbow Sock Chronicles this year which is being run by Lay Family Yarn and Sew Sweet Violet. But instead of knitting a pair each month just one colour of the rainbow, I'm going with ALL the rainbow colours! I've already cast on my next pair of rainbow socks and I'll share progress photos soon. Take care and stay safe. xxx

Fibre 4 Fibres Giveaway preview 45

This week's raffle prize is a mix of cosy colour. I do so enjoy picking out items to go into each week's prize and I hope you do too. The prize includes a beautiful Nightshift shawl which my lovely friend Melissa has knitted using a kit from Sunshine Yarns. I am so grateful to her generosity in donating it - I'm not sure how she can bear to part with it! Melissa will be posting this direct to the winner from her home in the USA. As well as the shawl, there is a gorgeous sock set donated by Stripey Cat Yarns called Vicarious Vacation. This colourway was created to represent all the lovely colours that you might see during a holiday in the sun. There is a drawstring project bag which has been stitched and donated by another Instagram friend Steph, a ball of Regia Design Line Arne and Carlos 4ply yarn, a Hiya Hiya needle gauge with US sizes on one side and metric sizes on the other, donated by an anonymous donor, a pretty beaded dragonfly progress keeper made and donated by Scarlet Stitchcraft, a postcard and sticker from Lanabou and a pin badge. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated a prize.

Fibre 4 Fibres Giveaway preview 44

I'm hoping that today's prize will bring a cosy feeling to you, wherever you are. It's been so cold and snowy in Norfolk this week, if I'd had to go out, I'd have needed to wrap myself up in ALL the knitwear! Hopefully the worst of the cold snap is over, although it has been snowing lightly again this morning! Today's prize includes a set of Knit Pro Marblz interchangeable needles which have been donated by my Instagram friend Peter and his wife. They look absolutely amazing, a real work of art! To go with this, there is a skein of Malabrigo Worsted yarn in the Hollyhocks colourway, 4 balls of Eden Cottage yarns Whitfell DK yarn, a skein of West Yorkshire Spinners Croft yarn which has been donated by Hannah Daisy Crochet and her mum (check out her website for some seriously cute stitch markers!) and a skein of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend. Not only that, there is a pretty beaded stitchmarker which has been made and donated by Betty Arthur Creations, a super-fluffy pompom with ties donated by The Crafty Bird and a tote bag to store your latest project in! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated a prize.

Little bits of cheer

It's bitterly cold here in Norfolk; snow fell steadily throughout the night and there are lots of drifts in the lanes where I live, so I'm hunkering down with a cuppa and my knitting. I thought you might like to see what's currently brightening my days. Let me know what's cheering you up. Stay safe! xxx

Fibre 4 Fibres Giveaway preview 43

Welcome to the first fundraising raffle of February. It's been so grey and dull this week that I thought I'd try to put together a prize full of spring sunshine with the promise of warmer days to come. Have I managed it do you think?! The prize includes two skeins of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend yarn in a gorgeous pale sky blue. Fran from Burrow & Soar has donated a pretty colourway called Crocus and an anonymous donor has donated a set of yarn from Lucy Locket Land which includes a 100g skein plus three minis, including one mohair. The colourway is called Hazel Catkins and it's so fresh and vibrant. Sarah Jo Makes has donated a beautiful Liberty fabric floral pouch, dpn case and lavender bag. To go with this there is a sunny tote bag from Lanabou and a set of daffodil stitch markers which was also donated anonymously. Thank you so much to everyone who very generously donated a prize.
