Possession is 9/10 of the law

I finished the Cosy Stripe blanket edging on Friday. There are four rounds in the pattern, and it finishes the blanket off perfectly. I ran out of the copper colour from the first round, but luckily I had another ball. Phew! I would have been mighty fed up if I'd not been able to finish it. You can see how the edging built up over the week in this photo.

Florence has been with me every step of the way, willing me on! A regular little cheerleader, even if she had quite selfish motives for wanting the blanket done and dusted!

I absolutely love it! The colours just glow and it lives up to its 'Cosy' name, that's for sure. I took this photo the evening it was finished, hung over the washing line.

As expected, Flo is a big fan of the blanket and is doing her best to claim it! It was inevitable!

Apart from spinning and finishing the blanket, I've been busy sewing over the past week or so. But I have had to keep it a secret until now, as I was making a birthday gift for my dear pal Snoopydog. I spotted some rather cute doggy fabric when I was at The Eternal Maker in Chichester over the Easter holidays. I bought some with Snoops in mind, and decided to sew her a project bag. I picked a bright spotty fabric from my stash to use as a lining. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and Snoopydog loved it too! It's always nice when gifts are appreciated, isn't it?

I've got a couple of cushions in the pipeline too - the first is one for a bee-loving friend and is going to be made using free motion stitching. Hopefully I will get a chance to work on it in the evenings this week. The second cushion will be another Contact Print one. That pattern is VERY addictive!

I'm aiming to spin every day of the Tour de Fleece too, with an accompanying daily blog post, so keep popping by to see what I'm working on. I have some rather beautiful fibre to play with. xxx

Your (or should I say Florence's?!) cosy blanket is gorgeous. I just love those colours and it does look very warm. How lucky that you had an extra ball for the border. The project bag is great - lucky, lucky friend. xx

I love the blanket. It is huge as well as colourful. Your cat wears her heart on her sleeve. Mine tries to stop me when I am knitting or crocheting as she wants my full attention. Sigh!

Such a large beautiful blanket, that was a huge project (for one cat to manage). Well done Flo.
