Stylecraft Head Over Heels Colour Competition!

Woohoo! Finally I can tell you about a new competition that's being run by Stylecraft. Last summer, when we were at the Mill, some of the Blogstars went on a tour of the David Hockney exhibition at Salts Mill. The works of art were used as the inspiration behind a really fun competition that was thought up by the creative minds of Annabelle and Juliet. Each Blogstar chose one of Hockney's pieces and picked colours from the Special DK range to create a potential colourway for the Head over Heels sock yarn. There are already lots of great colours in the range, but there's always room for more in my view! You can never have too much sock yarn!

Can you imagine what it looks like to have one of every colour of Special DK at your fingertips? Here's a photo to show what went on once the bag of yarn was emptied onto the floor! We were all very well behaved and ladylike! Promise! There was no pushing or shoving or elbowing each other out of the way!

We were able to pick 6 colours of Special DK which we wrapped around a sample card. Then the sock yarn spinner for Stylecraft mocked up how each colourway would look, either as a striped or melange yarn. Stylecraft have picked 8 melange colourways and 8 striped colourways and you get to vote on your favourite! The top 3 colourways in each category will be turned into 6 new shades of Head over Heels yarn which will be launched in the Autumn. And 6 of the lucky voters will win each of the 6 new colours. What a fabulous prize! Each Blogstar has created a colourway but we have done them anonymously so you won't know whose is whose until the results are announced on April 19th. Voting is open now until the end of March so follow this link, see which colourways float your boat and get voting! I can't wait to see which colourways win through! xxx

Voted, a difficult decision. I could see myself knitting all of them.

Gosh; that was very difficult indeed! Nevertheless, I gave it my best shot.
