Whoosh!

The last week has been so hectic, I have barely had time to breathe! Lots of school things going on as usual as well as my old Uni friends coming for the weekend. We have been friends for more than thirty years and meet up annually at one or other of our homes. This year, everyone descended on Norwich. We are all celebrating 'significant' birthdays this year, so there was lots of cake eating! 250 candles might have been a bit of a fire hazard, so we compromised!

Nannie weekend October 2014 (4)

We went into Norwich and did a sewing class on Saturday afternoon; three of us made bunting and two made cushion covers. Despite being a little anxious at  the start, all my friends thoroughly enjoyed the class and found it very relaxing! I'm really happy that I have shared my love of crafting with them.

We popped into Norwich Cathedral while we were in the city. Walking down one of the side aisles, I thought that they had some kind of special lighting effects in place. Look and you'll see what I mean.

When we got into the colour zone, it turned out that the lighting was due to some new stained glass windows. The effect is very dramatic, don't you think?

I was busy finishing off knitted gifts for my friends right up to Saturday morning! Nothing like leaving things to the last minute! You might remember my list of holiday knitting that I blogged about at the start of the summer break. I'll be telling you how I got on with my knitting goals very soon. I also have a gorgeous swap parcel to share with you. xxx

Love the modern slant on stained glass, it feels right that they are so up to date yet it's such a traditional craft.
