Fibre 4 Fibres Giveaway preview 23

Another week and another prize! This is my week off from chemo which is so good. I was laid low for a few days after last week's infusion, but have now bounced back to my 'normal' again. I did manage a few rounds on my sock before the cannula went in. The nurses are always so apologetic that they are stopping me from knitting. My latest blood tests showed some improvement for the first time in around 18 months, so I'm feeling so positive about this treatment and have everything crossed that it's going to be the one to get things under control. There is currently no cure for myositis. It is controlled with medication, but the earlier it can be got under control, the better your long term outcome is. My particular kind is very aggressive in its early stages which explains why it's affected me so badly. Still, once it's under control, I can work on maintaining the muscles that I've got and try to make them stronger. It's a long and slow process but I will do everything I can and work as hard as possible to do that.

This week's prize is full of colour again. The prize includes a beautiful teal ombre crocheted Virus shawl which has been made and donated by Heather from The Patchwork Heart. Heather has an amazing talent of putting just the right colours together and her Etsy shop is always busy with people wanting to buy her crocheted items. There is also a bundle of Stylecraft goodies, generously donated by Stylecraft including 5 balls of Special DK in the latest colours, a ball of Cosy chunky yarn (perfect for a snuggly hat), a tote bag, key ring, gift tags and limited edition Purl crochet magazine that was produced especially for Stylecraft's 30th anniversary last year. As Heather is well known for her mug shot photos and her love of Emma Bridgewater pottery, there is also an Emma Bridgewater mug and some sachets of my absolute favourite Yorkshire tea, which has been donated by Yorkshire Tea. (The mug is not new; it was a charity shop find, but it is as good as new, I promise you.) Thank you so much to everyone who has donated a prize.

You have a chance to win all these gorgeous prizes for a minimum donation of £2 - less than the price of a cup of coffee! Are you tempted to try your luck? Here's everything you need to know. This giveaway will run this coming Sunday 6th September, closing at 23:55. To enter, go to my JustGiving page here and buy your virtual raffle tickets by donating £2 or more. £2 gets you 2 tickets, £3 gets you 3 tickets, £5 gets you 5 tickets and so on. The more you donate, the greater your chance of winning. You will need to leave your Instagram or Ravelry name, or tick the box to share your details with me when you make your donation, so that I can contact you if you are the winner. All your donations go the Myositis UK to help fund research into this incurable muscle disease, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support. Every single donation is important. Let's see how much we can raise this weekend! £5000 is within touching distance and then I'm half way to my target. xxx

I hope that you have some good books to read while you are out of knitting action Helen? I have recently read Where the Crawdads sing, The beekeeper of Allepo and Girl Woman Other and recommend all three (although Girl, Woman, Other took a bit of getting into). I really hope that this treatment is successful; you must be heartily sick of hospitals by now.
Take care
Jane
