Just popping in really quickly this evening to share some festive pictures with you. Mr JK and I spent a lovely afternoon putting up our Christmas tree. We also put up my Mum's Christmas tree, dating back to the 1930's. It was the tree we always had growing up, and although it's a little sparse in the branch department, I love to see it!
It's still got some decorations that my Mum had when she was a little girl - some angels, a little tatty now, but still with a bit of sparkle left in them!
Baubles and other decorations from my childhood also adorn the tree.
The more astute of you may have spotted my Thorntons Advent calendar, so please excuse me while I go and see what delicious treat is hiding behind door number 1! See you soon. xxx

Oh I love your vintage tree! I remember my auntie had a similar one.
My mum still has some ancient glass baubles, and a nativity scene that is as old as me. She gets them out every year and we're amazed they still survive.
Enjoy your chocolate.
Lovely, lovely, lovely memories for you! Rosx
I thought you'd started the chocolates a bit early, I have several boxes of Continental that are supposed to be gifts but are so tempting, I should get them wrapped and out of sight. Your Mum's tree is lovely as are the decorations, they must have seen so many happy times.
I love the tree and the decorations. What great memories.
oh i love your vintage tree and all it's decorations! how wonderful that you still have it!
when my grandmother passed a few years ago i inherited a lot of her decorations, they make me so happy and remind me of her during this special time of year!

Ooh, a Thornton's Advent Calendar! What a thing of beauty that is! I like the old tree, kitsch in a way but plenty of memories too. I've also noticed your dastardly plan with the lights.... if you blind people enough with them they won't notice the sparse branches, right??!
