Although I didn't get any knitting done last week, I did manage to do some yarn-related bits and bobs first thing in the morning while waiting for the kids to surface each day. Last year, I entered the Deramores Blog Awards with my tape measure cosy pattern. It didn't win, but I did get good feedback from people who made it after seeing the pattern on my blog. Following my Ripple Stitch Cushion pattern release a couple of weeks ago, I decided to have a go at writing it up as a 'proper' downloadable pattern. You can find it here, on Ravelry for free! Once I'd written the pattern, I wanted to give it a test run to check yardage, so I rustled up this pretty, sparkly tape measure cosy whilst catching up on the happenings of the Great British Bake Off final.
Now that I've checked the pattern, I'm offering this cosy as a little giveway prize. To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is leave me a message and tell me what your favourite knitting or crochet notion is. It would be lovely if you decided to become a follower of my blog too. I'll keep the giveway open until midnight next Saturday (October 17th) and will pick a winner by random number selector. I'll post it anywhere so please do enter. The winner will be announced next Sunday. So what are you waiting for?! Get commenting and you never know, it could be your post that gets picked! xxx

That is such a cute idea. I was, however, lucky enough to win your last giveaway, so I won't enter this one. Good luck to everyone. xx
Oh, that's so pretty! Love the colours :)
Such a pretty case...and all my tape measures have bern stolen by my daughters (hint!). Ive followed you for years, I think yours might have been the first blog I followed....and now I'm addicted. My favourite notion, btw, is stick markers, so much fun, and so colouful (and hidden ftom the girls!)
Hi, I've recently found your blog. Lovely knitting, beautiful photos and a gorgeous cat. What more could anyone want in life?!
May favourite item is my knitting needle size gauge: essential for checking that I'm using matching double pointed needles, all the same size at the same time!
Thank you, Helen, for putting this pattern on Ravelry. I am really interested in making these as this year's Christmas gifts for my knitting group, and even looked for the tape measures last year after you gave us the tutorial on your blog. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a source for the tape measures like you use. Do you know of a good online source for them.
Many thanks!
I really need to do this. My husband and kids keep "borrowing" mine and they never see my knitting bag again :(
Favourite knitting notion? Knit pro stitch markers. I was always a bit of thread girl until my mum bought me some for my birthday. I'm converted! Easy to open and don't snag on the stitches.
