Fibre 4 Fibres Giveaway preview 71

I've got another gorgeously colourful prize for you again this week. The past few days, it's felt distinctly autumnal here in Norfolk, and my mind has started thinking about cosy blankets. Stylecraft Special DK yarn is perfect for blanket making as it's soft, hard wearing and machine washable. So I was delighted when my friend and fellow Stylecraft Blogstar Jane Crowfoot sent me some yarn that she didn't need. The prize includes 10 balls of Stylecraft Special DK which have been donated by Janie Crow, a wonderful basket donated by BasketBasket, a Knit Pro Waves crochet hook, a copy of the book Mindful Crochet, and a tote bag, crochet pattern booklet and key ring which have been donated by Stylecraft. Thank you so much for your donations.

Puppy Love

My friend's dog had puppies almost two weeks ago and I've been puppy sitting to help her out during the day. Phoebe is a very good mum to her pups - 4 girls and 3 boys - and they are all doing well. The runt of the litter is Little Bluey, so he's been getting extra milk from a syringe. I'm definitely a cat person but I am in love with these gorgeous puppies. I'm looking forward to seeing their personalities develop over the coming weeks.  I won't be taking one home with me though as I think Flo would have something to say about that! But I will be sure to share some more photos with you. xxx

Granny Square Day 2021

It's Granny Square Day today. It's celebrated particularly on Instagram where you can use the hashtag #grannysquareday2021 to bring up all the tagged images and create your very own virtual Granny square blanket. Simply Crochet magazine have produced a wonderful supplement in their latest edition which contains lots of gorgeous patterns. They also have lots of free patterns available online here.

For my Granny square, I decided to crochet a simple square using leftovers of Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo & Cotton yarn. It's so nice to work with, it's deliciously soft!  The colours I used are, from the centre outwards, Seafoam, Blush, Celery, Surf and Coral. If they look familiar, it's because I used them on my Southwold Summer Wrap.

This is a photo of possibly my favourite ever Granny Square Day - happily hooking away on a Greek beach back in August 2016, with my lovely Mr JK. Treasured memories forever in my heart. xxx

This week's prize is a really colourful affair! The prize includes a copy of Sue Stratford's 'Knitted Aviary' which has been donated by Search Press. To go with these, there is a set of five 50g Blue Faced Leicester skeins from Ripples Crafts which has been donated anonymously. I think that they would make a beautiful shawl. There is a colourful Zauberball and two balls of Mini Mochi 4ply yarn along with a fun pin badge from Lana Bou. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated a prize.

Fibre4Fibres Giveaway preview 69

Hello again! This week's prize has a rather floral feel to it. There is a pretty yarn sack which has been made and donated by SarahJoMakes and a sweet little dpn case with a delicate floral print. There is a skein of Beehive Yarns 'Audrey' 4ply yarn which is 75/25 SW merino/nylon in the colourway 'Cuckoo Flower'. It came to me as an anonymous donation in a yarn cake but I reskeined it to show off the yarn better. That's why it looks a little crinkly! There is a skein of Gigglebug Yarns 4ply yarn which is 85% SW merino and 15% Donegal nepps, in the colourway 'Rosie's Hydrangeas' which has been donated by Ruth Loves to Knit. Julie from Suffolk Socks has donated the yarn cake - it's another 4ply yarn, but there's no label so I can't give you any more details. Sharon who is Scr1tno on Instagram has donated a shortie sock set of 5 10g miniskeins which are 75/25 SW merino/nylon. Last of all, there is a set of 5 colourful stitchmarkers. Thank you so much to everyone who has made a donation.
